    How to share between window to unix?

    How to share between window to unix?


    1. On the left side of VMware Workstation, pls right click on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
    2. Go to setting option and click to options menu.
    3. select shared folder and always enabled it (by default disabled).
    4. Go for add folder or dirve or may be whole machine (computer)
    whichever you want.
    5. Next
    6. After that Host path and browse your machine for sharing.
    7. specify the attributes for folder shared specified folder.
    i. enable this share
    ii. read only
    8. finish.
    9. To see share folder in your terminal, open terminal and connect as root user

    For example.

    [root@localhost ~]# cd /mnt
    [root@localhost mnt]# ls
    hgfs
    [root@localhost mnt]# cd hgfs
    [root@localhost hgfs]# ls
    D
    [root@localhost hgfs]# cd D
    [root@localhost D]# ls
    apps11i New Microsoft Office Word Document.docx
    backup orcl_mac_with_db
    database orcl_mac_with_db.rar
    Firefox $RECYCLE.BIN
    linux 5.3.nrg Redhat setup
    Mod 13_LN_pdf VMware Workstation v.7.1.4 Build 385536.exe
    [root@localhost D]# pwd
    /mnt/hgfs/D
    [root@localhost D]# cp -r apps11i/ /u02
    You have new mail in /var/spool/mail/root

    Another option is just to Install Vmware Tools.
    After it is installed you can simply copy paste anything from the guest to host machine or vice versa.
