    Oracle Applications 11i Forms from Socket to Servlet or vice versa without autoconfig

    Do the below changes in the mentioned files to convert to socket mode :-
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

    a) vi $APPL_TOP/admin/$CONTEXT_NAME.xml

    1. <server_url oa_var="s_forms_servlet_serverurl">/forms/formservlet</server_url>
    should be modified to
    <server_url oa_var="s_forms_servlet_serverurl"/> ---> Socket Mode

    2. <servlet_comment oa_var="s_forms_servlet_comment"></servlet_comment>
    should be modified to
    <servlet_comment oa_var="s_forms_servlet_comment">#</servlet_comment> ---> socket mode

    3.s_forms_servlet_nprocs should be set to 1 (number of Forms JVMs) ---> servlet mode
    s_forms_servlet_nprocs should be set to 0 ---> socket mode

    4. <forms_connect oa_var="s_frmConnectMode">servlet</forms_connect> --> servlet mode
    <forms_connect oa_var="s_frmConnectMode">socket</forms_connect> --> socket mode

    5. Make sure that the process_status is "enabled" for Forms, in the xml file.
    ( s_formsstatus is the corresponding Tag )

    At this point , we have 2 options :
    A) Either shutdown services and Run Autoconfig
    B) Manually make changes in the files as stated below :

    b)
    $COMMON_TOP/html/bin/appsweb_<SID_hostname>.cfg
    serverurl= --> in socket mode
    connectMode=socket --> in socket mode

    c) Comment
    $IAS_ORACLE_HOME/Jserv/etc/jserv.conf

    #ApJServGroup FormsGroup 1 1 /<sid>/product/iAS/Apache/Jserv/etc/forms.properties ---> in socket mode
    #ApJServGroupMount /forms balance://FormsGroup/forms --> in socket mode

    d) Comment
    $APACHE_TOP/Jserv/etc/formservlet.properties

    # forms servlet --------------------------------------------------
    servlet.formservlet.code=oracle.forms.servlet.List enerServlet
    servlet.formservlet.initArgs=executable=f60webmx,E nvFile=/<sid>/product/iAS/Apache/Jserv/etc/formservlet.ini,MaxBlockTime=1000

    e) Bounce the Apache

    Oracle Applications Release 11 : Checking Socket and Servlet Mode

    Note Oracle Application Release 11 is, by default, configured to run in socket mode.

    Use the following command:

    $ grep connectMode FORMS60_WEB_CONFIG_FILE
    The current connection mode is reported:

    connectMode=socket
    Alternatively, use the following command:

    $ grep socket CONTEXT_FILE
    The current connection mode is reported:

    <forms_connect oa_var="s_frmConnectMode">socket</forms_conr....

    We can also verify the connect mode from the Java Console , when we are connecting to Forms using the URL
