    Krishana ,

Please see if you are able to execute srvctl config manually .

    eg : /app1/oracle/bin/srvctl config database

    Thanks

(Please post RAC issues as a RAC thread)

To restart one node , the procedure is :

    Stop Application Services
    Stop the Database Instances
    Stop the ASM Instances
    Stop the Nodeapps

you can also stop the clusterware on the node (would require root access) and then restart the server.

If you dont restart cleanly , no problems - the surviving instance will take care of the instance recovery.

i was trying srvctl config database -d CRBT
command taking too much time and no output came.

    Please suggest ...
if i am unable to stop instance / asm thru srvctl during node restart activity, what should be my approach? please guide.

Until the srvctl issue is fixed ,

Set the Database environment - ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID
login (using sqlplus) to the individual instances and shut all of them down using 'shutdown immediate'.

Set the ASM environment - ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID
Thereafter , you can login (using sqlplus) to the ASM Instances and shut them down using 'shutdown immediate'.

    Hi Krishna,

If we give Shutdown immediate , only that particular Instance where we give it will go down.
The other Instance would be up and running.

    Thanks
