    ORA-01775: looping chain of synonyms

I created a table, added two records, accessed it from two user session and drop it later from one of the user session.
Now when I fire select statement select * from [table name] just to check I got the Error ORA-01775: looping chain of synonyms.
I am unable to find the synonymn in dba_synonyms with the corresponding table name.
Now, not getting what will I do further in this case? How can I make sure that synonymn is referring that table which does not exist in reality?

    looping chain of synonyms

create another synonym and again check dba_synonym
and drop that synonym for that table later on. Problem resolved.
